The brief
A U-shaped kitchen that needed to feel modern without going cold, in a house where the adjacent dining space stays visible from the cooking zone.
The approach
Matte grey on the perimeter to keep it quiet, a dark island to give the eye somewhere to land, and a garden window at the sink so the hardest-working spot in the room gets the daylight.
Why it was visualized first
Cabinet colour and island contrast are exactly the decisions people find impossible to judge from samples. Rendering them at full scale made the choice take one meeting instead of four.
